Grape sugar, also known as dextrose, is an important fuel for the body, in particular for supplying extra efforts.
Grape sugar is mainly supplied to animals that are expected to require extra effort. Examples include homing pigeons.
Grape sugar is also supplied to smaller birds such as tropics and crooked beaks.
1-2 tablespoons of grape sugar are added to the drinking water daily.
With racing pigeons, a few days before basketing, 2-4 tablespoons of grape sugar per liter of drinking water can be added. This can be repeated on the day of your return.
Grape sugar is packed in resealable 500 gram cans.
